Kharge, Kumaraswamy file nomination
 
01-03-04 Janata Dal (S) state unit President H D Kumaraswamy, Opposition Leader
in the Karantaka Assembly Mallikarjuna Kharge and Animal Husbandry Minister
Revunaik Belamagi among others filed their nominations for Lok Sabha elections,
on the last day for filing of papers here on wednesday
While Mr Kumaraswamy filed his nomination from the Bangalore Rural Parliamentary
constituency, Mr Kharge filed his papers for the Gulbarga Lok Sabha seat.
Mr Revunaik Belamagi, the only Minister from the ruling BJP Government in the
State fielded to contest the Lok Sabha elections, filed his nomination for the
Gulbarga (SC) seat after garlanding statues of 12th century social reformer
Basaveshwar and Dr B R Ambedkar.
Karnataka Legislative Council member and BJP nominee D S Veeraiah filed his
nomination papers from Kolar (SC) seat, while Karnataka Legislator Jameer Ahmed
(JD-S) and BJP's P C Mohan filed their papers from Bangalore-Central seat.
The last date for filing of nominations for the second phase of elections was
April two.
