CITU organizes May Day - 2010 for Unorganized Workers

Mangalore : ‘One cannot find any country where workers do not face any
problems and harassment, said B Madhava, state president, CITU, speaking at
the ‘ May Day’ organized by CITU at Town Hall on May 1, Saturday.
Speaking as
the main speaker on the occasion, he also said that even to the present day,
the workers at the government office are working for more than 12 hours
which is against the law.

Most of the
workers are losing their job since the government is appointing the out
contractors. Above 90 percent of the contractors do not consist of license,
hence the workers working under them are not given any governmental
facilities, he added.
If the
government implements National Manufacturing Investment Zone in the country,
there will be no trade unions are done and many of them will lose job
opportunities. Later the companies will start the hire and fire rule against
the workers.

Sunil Kumar
Bajal, city secretary, CPI(M), compered the programme. Venugopal Nambiar,
Yashwanth Maroli, Gurucharan Rao, Muneer Katipalla, Raghavendra Rao,
Jalendra Kumar, CITU district leader J Balakrishna Shetty and Vasanth Achary
were present on the dais.
The workers
along with the guest and leaders of various organizations led to the venue
with the attractive procession.
