Police Flag Day Observed in City

02.03.10 Mnagalore : Karnataka Police Flag Day and Welfare Day were
celebrated with a parade by six different contingents of police force and
police band at Police Grounds, Pandeshwar, Mangalore, on April 2 Friday.
A Retired Police Inspector Anasooya A, was the chief guest of the event.
Ram Nivas Sepat, IPS, who was the commander of the parade, escorted Anasooya
for the parade.

Speaking on the occasion, Anasooya said that the Government must fulfill the
requirements of the Police, who have rendered their life to maintain peace
and order in the society.
She also said that, if the Government fulfill the requirements of the
police officials, the menace of corruption will vanish from the department.

KM Ganapati, RSI, TB Satish, RSI, A Ravi, RSI, Chikkaswamy Gowda, PSI,
Gopala Krishna Gowda, PSI traffic and Honnugowda PSI led six contingents of
the police respectively in the parade.
M Seetharama Shetty, Advocate, was the special invitee on the occasion.
Releasing the police flag on the occasion, Gopal B Hosur, IGP said that
Dakshina Kannada Police has secured first place in maintaining law and order
in the entire state.
A number of retired police officials were felicitated on the occasion. Kinya
Rama Rai award was conferred on Jnaneshwara HC for his sincere service as a
police officer. Awards for those children of police officials who secured
highest marks in SSLC and PUC examinations were also distributed.
A Subrahmanyeshwara Rao, Superintendent of Police welcomed the gathering and
read out the annual report. R Ramesh, Additional SP proposed vote of thanks.
