Aravind Shastry State Open Blitz Chess Champion
02.05.10 Mangalore : Karnataka State Open Blitz Chess Championship 2010
conducted by South Kanara District Chess Association concluded today at
Subramanya Sabha, Jail Road Mangalore. Mr M S Gururaj, President South
Kanara District Chess Association; K Sudhakar, Joint Secretary SKDCA; Mrs
Vasanthalakshmi, Treasurer, SKDCA were the guests of prize distribution
ceremony and distributed the prizes.
Karnataka State Blits tournament was conducted in a 5 minutes per player and
nine round swiss league format. National A player and Former State champion,
Aravind Shastry of Bangalore scored 8 points out of nine rounds and declared
as the champion. In the ninth round he lost to Former State Champion,
Vijendra Y G of Mysore. In the second board, Stany GA of Shimoga and Suraj
M of Bangalore drew their game.
Aravind Shastry and Stany GA will represent Karnataka State for the
forthcoming National Blitz Chess Championship 2010
