District Authorities hold Mass cremation of 12 unidentified bodies of
Plane Crash

02.06.10 Mangalore : The Mass cremation of 12 unidentified bodies of plane
crash victims was held at Tannirbavi Road on June 2, Wednesday.
The mass burial was held as per Section 34 of the Disaster Management Rules.
The funeral rites took place in all the three religion, when the families of
victims claimed the body to be not related after the latest DNA test results
received from the Hyderabad-based lab.

Union minister of state for railways, K H Muniappa, District in Charge
minister Krishna J Palemar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mayor Rajani Dugganna,
MLA UT Khader, Moideen Bawa and other were present and offered floral
tribute to the bodies.
The religious leaders like Illias Bhakhabi Mustaq from Bolar Mosque, Fr
William Menezes, director, Mangalore Diocese and MB Puranik, Mangalore
division head of Vishwa Hindu Parishat rendered the prayer as a part of
final rites.

On behalf of Police department, Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh garlande
the bodies, while S. A. Prabhakar Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner of
Police on behalf of District Administration, Dr K N Vijayaprakash, MCC
Commissioner on behalf of Mangalore City Corporation, C Basavaraj on behalf
of Fire Department, Dr Saroja, DMO of Wenlock Hospital and Harsha on behalf
of Press Club.
Apart from it, the one of the survivor Pradeep also was present at the mass
burial.
