Prasad Attavar to spend 15 days in judicial custody

03.03.10 : Prasad Attavar, leader of Shri Rama Sene (SRS) who was arrested for his connections with underworld don Ravi Poojary, has been remanded to judicial custody for a period of 15 days, Later he was produced before the judicial magistrate of the third court in Mangalore by Kadri Police on March 2, Tuesday. 

His relative Rajendra, who was also booked on similar grounds, was with him when they were presented before the judge at his residence in Bondel. Prasad has been charged under Sections 143, 144, 502, 511, 325, 328, and 120B r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code. 

According to the police officials, Prasad has confessed to being involved with the gangster and distributing his funds to other criminals in Mangalore. 

The Kadri Police intend to request the court on March 3, Wednesday to grant custody of Attavar for further interrogation. The police want to interrogate Prasad to probe more information of underworld activities in Mangalore.
