Manasa K is in sole lead  women’s Chess Championship 2010

03.05.10 Mangalore : Karnataka State women’s Chess Championship 2010 is being conducted by South Kanara District Chess Association today at Subramanya Sabha, Jail Road Mangalore. The tournament will be conducted in Swiss league system total number of rounds five. Today at the end of the third round in the first board Manasa K of Mangalore with white pieces played against Andria L D’souza of Mangalore and won with less effort. This win took her half  a point  ahead of her nearest rivals Pavitra Jagatap and Shalon Joanne Pais,

In the second board after a long struggle Pavitara And Shalon signed for peace

In the second round at the first table State Under 13girls 2010 champion Gangamma B N of Mysore played with white pieces lost to former State women’s champion, former National under 18 Bronze medalist  Manasa K of Mangalore.

In the second board last year women’s runner up former state under 13 championship Vanessa D’souza of Mangalore played with white pieces lost to Shalon Joanne Pais of Mangalore, this result was major upset of the day

In the first round fourth seeded Nisha N Patkar of Shimoga played with black pieces lost to Eulalia A J Pereira of Mangalore un rated player, except this upset all seeded player won their games comfortably.
