Social Democratic Party of India felicitates recent SDPI winners of BBMP/GPs
elections in port city.

03.06.10 Mangalore : The Town Hall in Mangalore on Thursday, June 3,
reverberated with slogans of victory for the winners of various Gram
Panchayat / BBMP elections from SDPI in Bangalore, Kodagu, Belthangady,
Udupi and DK (Sajipanadu) and such other areas recently.
Abdul Majeed, state president, presiding over the felicitation meeting
observed that in 63 years of Independence and party rule by Congress, BJP
and regional patties, neither the water crisis nor the power shortage
problem has been solved adequately. Capitalists within the country and
investors from abroad (all over the world) are given the best facilities
available in the country to help them loot Indian wealth. The local poor
masses have no roof over their heads, nor have they any capacity to build
their own houses in cities and rural parts of the country. They have to
struggle hard to eak out one meal a day, the SDPI state chief lamented.

The entire national administration needs governance free of corrupt
practices, and such a new rule has to be transparent and honest, which is
why SDPI is born. The elected SDPI representatives have to provide water,
electricity, homes for the devastated people, solutions to various agro
production problems, Abdul Majeed of Kodlipete pinpointed. The duty of our
new rural and BBMP representatives, is laid out clearly, he added.
A large number of GP / BBMP elections winners who had assembled in the Town
Hall today were presented with shawls and mementoes by the state president
of SDPI to the mass delight of the audience.

Prof. Nazneen Begum, a BBMP corporator, accepting the honor from the Party
spoke on behalf of the winners and hoped that SDPI would develop in to a
clean and non corruptible national party of India in the near future, to the
applause of representatives present on the occasion. 33 chief guests
(winners) were introduced.
GP members Ganesh, Alphonso, Mayyaddi and Mohd. Nasir, besides Thippeswamy,
Hemalatha, Haneef Khan, CR Imtiaz (National Secretary), K.M. Sheriff (SWC
member), AMM Shafi, Abdul Hannan (Gen. Secy.), Malhad Mohd., and other
dignitaries were present on the dais.
A special Bulletin of SDPI announcing freedom from Hunger and fear was
released at the venue. Anwar Saadath (SWC member) welcomed and Rahman Malpe
(Udupi Dt.chief) proposed a vote of thanks. Lunch was served to all members.
