Swami moves
court to restrain media

04.03.10 : Swami Nithyananda moved a civil court in the city on Wednesday to
restrain the Sun TV from telecasting any video clippings and newspapers from
publishing any article or photograph about him.
The XV Assistant Judge A Manickavasagar of the city civil court in Chennai
ordered notice and posted the petition for further hearing on March 8. The
newspapers and a magazine the godman wanted restrained are Dinakaran, Tamil
Murasu and Nakkeeran.
In his petition, Nithyananda submitted that he had 45 lakh devotees in 17
countries and was conducting free medical camps, besides providing education
to the needy.
While so, one of the inmates of his mutt, Premananda alias Lenin Karuppan,
was attempting to tarnish his image. Using the information technology, he
had morphed and released the videograph, which was being repeatedly telecast
by Sun TV.
Doctored video, says mission
IN its response to the scandalous videos on Sun TV, Paramahamsa Nithyananda
Mission’s website issued a statement saying that the videos were doctored.
“At this moment, we feel that a mix of conspiracy, graphics and rumour is at
play in these recent events that have unfolded.
We are working on a legal course of action and will come up with updates in
due course,” the website said.
The statement went on to reassure the god man’s devotees that Nithyananda
has been a transformational force in the lives of over two million people
across the world.
“For those who have experienced the blessings and grace of Swamiji, no
further explanation is necessary. Yet we request you to recall the life
solutions from Swamiji that continue to provide a powerful spiritual anchor
for millions in these turbulent times. We wish to reiterate that Nithyananda
Dhyanapeetam is a worldwide movement which is committed to bringing about a
true awakening for all, irrespective of race, culture or nation,” it further
said.
