Seemanth Singh and Gopal Hosur

When Gopal B. Hosur was transferred from Bengaluru to Mangaluru on the West
coast, as D.I.G, he was about to be the city commissioner, but it appears that
either he has no political god father, or does not bother for one, to climb the
career ladder. On reaching Mangalore, he found that an IGP had vacated his place
for Hosur, but the latter (Hosur) was less than that in rank! He bided his time,
and got his promotion as I.G.P., but the M. commissionerate was slipping away
from his hands, either because the port city had not grown up (it is a B grade
city), or because he had become I.G.P for the Western range, comprising 3
coastal districts and perhaps, Shimoga, added. He was now given additional
charge of a commissionrate in the womb, not yet delivered. It was the brain
child of a SP earlier, who was posted to Kolar, after being the best police
online news writer (Twitter?) the Mangalore commissionerate took a long time to
grow in Pandeshwar-womb of the city. But our Gopal was probably too slow in its
creating, as it was an additional charge for him. He remains the IGP for Western
Range, but in- comes Seemanth Singh of Bihar, from Bengaluru to Mangaluru, on
the blessings of Bellary Reddy brothers, whom he had cultivated in the thick of
illegal iron-ore mining on the borders, of Bellary/Ananthpur by shifting stones
marking the two states borders. He was here in 2002 as DSP and Seemanth (end of
border?) is promoted as DIG and also the new Police Commissioner in the port
city. The place had a higher ranking police officer till recently, as it was
felt only an IGP can head the new commissionerate. But Mangalore has again been
de-graded, to be unimportant to men who matter! (in Bengaluru, that is).
