Moily releases M Ranga Pai’s book ‘Role of Lord Krishna in Mahabharat’

07.06.10 Mangalore : A separate cell has been fomed under the ministry to look into personal laws of various faiths said M Veerappa Moily, Union Law and Justice Minister.

 He was speaking after releasing M Ranga Pai’s book titled ‘Role of Lord Krishna in Mahabharat’ at S.D.M. College auditorium on June 6, Sunday. He also said that, the rule for law must be applicable to every section of the society without having any discrimination between gender, caste or religion.

 He urged the people to follow the values stated in the epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharatha. Lord Sri Krishna was first to judge that right of land should go to the tiller, suggesting gopikas to have rights over the land, he added.

The Indian philosophers like Basavanna and epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana advocated the values of equality and liberty much before Karl Marx,  Moily said.

Sri Poornakamananda Swamiji of Ramakrishna Math presided over the function. Author Ranga Pai delivered an introductory speech. Sudhakara Rao Pejawara compered the programme.

MLA, Abhayachhandra Jain, Gopal Hosur, IGP, Western Range,  Sumana Pai and others were present.
