Yenepoya School organizes ‘Green Run’ Marathon

06.06.10 Mangalore : The Yenepoya School in association with the Yenepoya Group organized ‘Yenepoya Green Run’ marathon as part of the World Environment Day on Sunday, June 6.Around 200 people including students participated in the event.

Gopal B Hosur, Western Range IGP flagged off the event at the Pumpwell Circle at 7 am. The marathon both for male and female in separate 3 categories started from Pumpwell circle to Karavali circle via Kankanady Father Muller circle, took a U turn, returned to Pumpwell circle and finally gathered at the Yenepoya School ground covering 4kms distances.

Rajesh Kumar, Environmental Officer of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, and Sripathi Rao, the Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya University participated as the chief guests.

 UT Khader, MLA and the chief guest of the occasion praised the organizers for their concern over Nature. Y Abdullah Kunhi, the Chancellor of Yenepoya University presided over the valedictory programme. Later U T Khader presented trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place holders in each category.
