prominent Kannada film personalities. It is in the evening, that 108
personalities of walks of the field will be honored. The third day it is the
turn of people who helped the industry grow big including the media, the police
department and others to get honored' disclosed KFCC president Jaimala in a
press meet. A 15 day holiday has been declared for the Kannada film industry in
this aspect. Earlier there were rumors that by declaring a 15 day holiday, it
would be difficult for the daily wage workers who depend only upon shooting for
daily needs. However, Karnataka Film Workers Union general secretary
Ravindranath has said that, there is not at all a problem in this issue and the
workers under the 14 organisations of the Union has given extended support by
telling that they won't mind a 15 day holiday. For this grand celebration
numerous committees have been set up. Parvathamma Rajakumar is heading the
finance committee, while V. Ravichandran has taken the responsibility for the
cultural committee. Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa, T S Nagabharana and Nagatihalli
Chandrasekhar is in charge of the book series, screening committee and seminar
committee respectively.
Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, has now set to do a good job by publishing
75 books about the industry on the occasion of 75th anniversary of Kannada film
industry. KFCC has planned to pen 75 books to give a brief history of 75 years
of Kannada films. Kannada film industry lacked information of its beginning,
development and history of industry personalities. The chamber has decided to
introduce the contributors to the development of Kannada film industry for 75
years. The 75 books, which deal with the history of biggest personalities like
Gubbi Veeranna, Pantulu, Nagendrarao, Rajkumar, Shankar Nag and Manjula, are at
the stage of writing. Technicians names are also included in the books. The
books mainly concentrate on the film personalities, who are no longer with us.
All these 75 books are released and kept for exhibition on the occasion of 75th
anniversary of Kannada film industry, which is set between 17 February and 3
March. Kannada writer and filmmaker Bargooru Ramchandra is the Chief Editor of
the books. Journalist PG Shrinivasmurthy, Gangadhar Modaliar, Mallige
Shridharmurthy etc. are in the editorial board. Lets thank KFCC for taking this
step to publish 75 books about the industry. Lets congratulate Dr. Jayamala, who
