Media complains against doctor and Nursing Home Staffs for misbehavior

07.05.10 Mangalore : An incident of conflict took place at Jayashree Nursing Home located at K S Rao Road between media men and a doctor as well as staffs over an isolated new-born baby found at late night on  May 6, Thursday.

The incident occurred when a reporter of a local news channel along with other media persons on public information went to gather the news on the on the new-born baby found abandoned within the premises at Jayashree nursing home. But it is said that, Dr Jayaprakash misbehaved and abused the media men. He also asked the staff to take the new-born into the hospital and snatched the video camera from the media representatives.

Based on the information to Manjunath, sub-inspector of Mangalore north police station arrived at the spot control the situation. A complaint alleging seizure of camera and creating obstruction during duties has been filed.

This incident has been condemned by the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association, along with doctor’s misbehaviour with the media.

They also urged the police department to take necessary action against the incident.
