PWD to organize two day Quality Assurance workshop
07.06.10 Mangalore : The various department of the Government would be
executive large number of works costing reasonable amount every year and it
is the policy of the Government to see that all the works are carried out
strictly as per standards, said Dr P Mahadevappa, member secretary, Task
Force for Quality Assurance.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Public Works Department, on June
7, Monday. In order to provide the opportunity for the junior engineers to
participate in the workshop and expose themselves to the modern trends in
Engineering, hence it will organize two day workshop at T V Raman Pai
Convention Centre on June 10 and June 11, he added.
He also said that Honourable Chief Minister and Honourable Minister of
Public Works have taken a decision to form a Task Force to look into the
various aspects of execution of Governmental works including enhancing and
maintaining the quality of every work.
The Task Force has been formed under the leadership of Dr C S Vishwanath as
chairman and it has 10 eminent Engineers, expert Engineers as the members of
Task Force, he informed.
B S Balakrishna, Superintendent Engineer, PWD Mangalore Circle said that,
The Task Force has initiated many programmes to enhance the quality of the
works including increasing the technical competence of the engineers which
is of prime importance.
Honourable Minister for Public Works C M Udasi will inaugurate the event in
the presence of District in charge minister Krishna J Palemar. The expert
engineers from different parts of India will present ten technical lectures
in the workshop. Around 300 engineers from 4 districts will participate in
the seminar.
