BJP faces GP elections boldly today.

08.05.10 Mangalore : BJP DK chief and former MLA, Padmanabha Kottari called a press meet on Saturday morning to discuss the ensuing GP elections in Mangalore, and to tone up the party workers to raise the pitch of the battle ahead.

Out of 3118 seats open for GP elections in D.K, BJP hopes to capture over 2,000 in good measure, Kottari said brimming with self-confidence. He accused the arch rival Congress, of fomenting trouble in by false allegations and through police complaints, villages also by trying to black-mail BJP rural workers, and wrongly attributing their (BJP) achievements as one’s own.

Kottari was firm about BJP achievements and told the opponents that BJP workers would not be cowed not be down by threats and false propaganda. The BJP workers in villages have tried to serve the rural poor by providing information on actual amenities given to weaker sections of the rural society by the ruling government. But the congress MLAs are stooping to low levels of public indecency and have created a fear psychosis in GPs, he accused.  

Kottari explained that in all areas connected to BJP MLA’s in the D.K. and stage. There were no confusing situations, and BJP has decided to fight alone in GP elections. He was certain on BJP winning a majority in rural parts.

BJP district office-bearers, General Secretary Sanjeeva, Vice President Raj Gopal Rai, Yuva Morcha President Kishor Kumar, BJP Mangalore City President Srikara Prabhu, District President Devadasa Shetty  were present at the press meet today.
