Prospective Bride-Bridegrooms meet conducted at Billava Temple hall in
Kudroli on Sunday

10.05.10 Mangalore : The Billava Association, Bangalore, in a joint social
service undertaking with city’s Kudroli temple authorities, organised a
prospective Bride & Bridegroom marital search event at the temple Hall on
Sunday, May 9 when 488 couples had a “dekho” at each other to solemnise a
mass marriage later on. The event was inaugurated by lighting a traditional
lamp by Ms. Urmila Ramesh, a partner of Deepa Comforts in Mangalore. She
wished well to all those participants who had gathered at the Hall. Sai
Kumar, Temple administrator, presided. Chief Guest M. Veda Kumar of
Bangalore expressed his happiness on the fact that poor and rich, educated
and not so educated men and women had taken part in a search for life
partners on this day. Bharathi Kunder conducted the proceedings. The
prospective couples were allowed to go through the corresponding documents
and to speak to one another during the search for matrimony

Ms. Bhanumathi Harish, Padmaraj, Maheshchandra, N. Gopalkrishna (Secretary
of Bangalore Billava Sangha), Dr. Anasuya Salian (Director of
Bride/Bridegroom search committee), Devendra Poojary, Taranath, B.T. Salian,
Bharathi D. Suvarna and other dignitaries were present on the occasion to
supervise the proceedings.
About 400 women and over 100 men had registered for the local Billava event
at the Sri Gokarnanath Temple Hall.
