Wild fire destrys medicinal plants near Hubli

11.03.10 : Wild fire has devastated Kappatagudda hill in Gadag district destroying the most valuable medicinal and other forest resources, informed the forest department officials here on Wednesday.

Following setting in of the summer small herbs, grass and plants had dried up. Some miscreants had set fire to the dried grass. The fire has spread almost all the areas of the hill. There was wind mill power plant very near to the hill on the top of it. The working of this plant has also seriously affected, officials said.
The forest department staff had launched work to extinguish the fire.
