Fifa Cup 2010: Football fever catches up with Indian fans.

11.06.10 : India is full of foot ball matches, in Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu,
Karnataka, Maharastra, Andhra, Delhi and ever so many other states, where
youth and working people are ready to remain awake during anytime in the
night , watching international football championship among 32 teams, all
national, in South Africa.
This black nation has suddenly become a great organizer of huge tournaments
in cricket (IPL, World Cup) and football (World Cup).
According to former Indian cricket captain Saurav Ganguly, Brazil will
emerge as the winner of the FIFA cup, with Kaka as the captain. This win is
the 6th that Brazil (South American Nation) will grab, if Spain
and Germany do not play well.
Football, and not cricket, is the biggest sport in the comity of nations.
This year in friendly matches, many national teams have suffered injuries
before the first game has been played out, as such the original 15 players
in those injured nations will not be the same and new players are likely to
replace the injured players (due to tackling and falls on the fields etc.).
This will impact final results and hopes.
India has 47 percent of the population in favour of the game of football,
otherwise known as soccer. India has good teams in Kerala, Bengal, Karnataka
and Maharastra, but the national team has never made it to the qualifying
round, even when final teams in Fifa were increased from 16 to 24 to 32 now,
with Asia, America and Africa included in the original preliminary rounds.
The first Match starts on Today
India is perhaps ranked beyond 130 in list a of 150 teams all over the
world! But peoples enthusiasm for football is terrific and bubbling. Indian
players have never played abroad in, say. European clubs or South America.
Yet, they will die to see the world class matches, day or night. On June 11
at 7.30 Pm after the welcome celebrations, South Africa will face Mexico and
later at mid night (12 O’clock) Uruguay will meet France, in the opening
Matches of the day. Viva World Football 2010! |
