Horticulture Department Vehicle Driver‘s death leads to suspicion

11.06.10 Mangalore : In a strange situation, the driver’s dead body of the horticulture department vehicle, in Mangalore was found on the railway tracks at Kapikad, a place situated between Ullal and Netravati River on Friday June 11.

The deceased person was identified as Bharat Kumar (40) during the investigation conducted by the railway police. Bharat Kumar was one who carried pesticides-laden mini lorry from the warehouse to Kadri Park on Wednesday. With this case, the matter of dumping the pesticides into the dry well at Kadri Park has taken a new twist.

According to the railway police officer, the driver was compressed to death under running train between 1pm and 1:30pm on Friday. The case has been registered at the police station and the investigation of mysterious death will be carried on.

The concerned authority was not sure that the death of the person is caused by committing suicide or due to some other reason, but he clarified that dead body was found on railway tracks.

It has been confirmed that, Bharat Kumar had visited the Kadri Park well on Thursday, June 10 along with deputy director of horticulture department. He had also answered to the MP Nalin KUMAR Kateel’s queries.
