DK Police nab accused of two Cases

12.04.10 Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada District Special Investigation
Bureau Police arrested twelve accused linked to underworld gang on April 12,
Monday informed Gopal B Hosur, IGP, speaking at the press meet held at SP
Guest House.
The arrested have been identified as Narayana Salyan (46) of Belthangady,
DK, Abdul Nazeer (34), of Harekala, DK, Muhammad Faisal Ibraheem Shaikh (28)
of Mumbai, Rohan Firoz Khan (21) of Mumbai, Mangesh Aravind (21) of Chembur,
Maharashtra, Lokesh Ameen (26) of Jokatte, DK, Abhishek Ameen (24), of
Bikarnakatte, Mangalore, Abdul Nasir (26) of Someshwara, DK, Abdul Hakeem
(33), Munnoor Grama, DK, Abdul Azeez (25), Munnoor Grama, DK, Sameer Hamsa
(25), Someshwara, DK and Muhammad Jamaluddeen (29) of Kotekar, DK.
Giving out the details, IGP said that, the police officials have also
succeeded in seizing weapons, ammunitions, mobile phones and vehicles
including Tavera and Maruti Omni from the accused.

The police arrested the accused with the help of one of the gang members,
when other members were fully prepared to murder an advocate near his
office.
The police also ascertained that the same gang was behind the kidnap case
of a jeweler shop owner of the city, during the investigation.
Prakash, PSI of DK District Special Investigation Bureau, and constables
Anand, Bhaskar Kamath, Muhammad Iqbal and many other personnel participated
in the successful operation led by Hosur and R Ramesh, the Acting
Superintendent of Police of DK.
The Police department has handed over a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/- for the
team led by Prakash.

While in the other case, the Bantwal Police arrested two persons and seized
jewellery of the 1.25 kg worth Rs. 22 hundred thousand on the same day, in
connection with 28 different house burglaries happened in Dakshina Kannada
and Kasargod District.
The arrested have been identified as Murugan alias Kalimutthu alias
Kodangala Swami (41) and Balakrishna alias Babu (33), both hailing from
Tirunalvali District of Tamil Nadu.
According to the secret information provided by Valerien Felix Pinto, a
resident of Panjekallu Village of Bantwal Taluk, the police team led by K
Nanjunde Gowda, Bantwal Police Circle Inspector, succeeded in arresting both
the accused, said Gopal B Hosur in the same press meet.
The team led by K Nanjunde Gowda was awarded with the cash prize of Rs.
10,000 each. Valerian Felix Pinto was felicitated by the IGP and SP for his
cooperation in arresting the accused.
