Lions Club launched ‘Save Tiger' campaign

12.04.10 Mangalore : The Lions Club  of Milagres launched a 'Save Tiger' awareness campaign in Jeppinamogaru on April 11, Sunday.

Small screen star Shoba M Lolanath, who is also a secretary of GNS Yamini Foundation participated in the event.

Speaking to the people on the occasion, the organisers deliverd an awareness statement on Tigers which are hunted down and killed for the commercial intesrests of the rich and also  the people with superstitious belief who wonder for paw nails of tigers. Hence these commercial act must be stopped, they added.

Stickers and posters of the 'save tiger' campaign were released on  the occasion. Shoba Lolanath tried to spread awareness among the people about the bad effects of tigers' extinction on nature as well as forest, through sticking the posters of campaign in front of shops.

Lion R Mahabal Shetty, Lion J K Rao Governor Lions club, Lion Phillip Pereira, Mr Harish P and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
