Voting in D.K at 2 P.M. encouraging

12.05.10 Mangalore : By 2 P.M. 47.68% of total voters in GP polls in D.K. have voted. The registered votes in order were, Mangalore – 50%, Bantwal- 43%, Belthangady- 43%, Puttur- 54% and Sullia – 48%.

No untoward or unpleasant incidents are reported today since 7 A.M., when polling started. The voting is heading towards a record of over 70% before the closing time (5 P.M).

People have taken genuine interest in polling in phase 2, as in Phase!, guided by the voting of over 70% on May 7. They are seen lining up in many booths in bright weather. Rains have fallen at night on the previous day, but that has not dampened their spirits, as weather has cooled down and allowed them an opportunity on a holiday to vote whomsoever they like, irrespective of any party folds.
