Gopal Krishna Pai inaugurates Students’ Literary Convention 

13.03.10 Mangalore : The Old Students’ Association of Mangalore University and SDM College of Business Management jointly organized the 6th university-level students’ sahitya sammelan at SDM College of Business Management on March 13, Saturday.  

Gopal Krishna Pai, litterateur of Bangalore, inaugurated the sammelan. In his inaugural and presidential address, he said that one hardly forget great litterateurs such as Kumara Vyasa while discussing literature.  

Expressing regret that the ancient culture of reading and explaining great works of literature has now disappeared, he urged people to read at least 5 parts of great literature written by great litterateurs instead of wasting their time reading newspapers and watching television.

Speaking about the criticism, he said that literary critics to give a clean critical analysis of a work of literature, apart from being bias.  

Dr K Chinnappa Gowda, the registrar of Mangalore University, and Dr K Devaraj, the principal of SDM College of Business Management were the chief guests of the event.
