Nethravathi-Phalguni Jodukere Kambla conducted at Pilikula

13.03.10 Mangalore  : The Nethravathi-Phalguni Jodukere Kambla  organised by Pilikula Nisargadhama Society and Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts Kambla Committee held on March 13.

The State tourism minister, G Janardan Reddy, inaugurated the Kambala. Around 88 pairs of buffalos participated in the Kambala competition.

Reddy, speaking at the press conference said that,  the promotion of heli tourism in the state and city, will be implemented which will be the base station and will get three helicopters. He also said that, the state will sanction of Rs 11 crore for the proposed works, including Rs 3 crore for sports activities and setting up of heritage village at Pilikula.                                                                                                                   

A large number of people gathered at the spot, encouraged the participants, who vied in the various segments like ‘Hagga hiriya/kiriya’ ‘Kane halage Negilu Hiriya’, ‘Adda halage negilu kiriya’.
