B. Janardhana Poojary deprecates

Gali Reddy brothers questioning State Governor on Obalapuram Granite /Irm Qre mines

15.05.10 Mangalore : In a press meet called by local Congress leader, B. Janardhana Poojary at the Patrika Bhawan on May 15 in the afternoon, he criticised the low attitude of Gali Reddy brothers of Bellary as ministers in the state BJP government in questioning the notice issued to them by former Union Law Minister and present Karnataka governor, Hans Raj Bhardwaj in regard to the Obalapuram, Iron ore and Granite mines owned by them and ores and granite sold in markets so far by them. The Reddy brothers and healthy minister Sriramulu had stated that the Governor could not issue a show cause notice to a minister in the state govt. under whatever propriety.

Poojary stated that the Reddy brothers had no right to mine some of the areas in the first place and they had no authority to shift the mined materials else where in or out of the state. The BJP government was somehow protecting their illegal and infamous mining operations.

The state govt. had lost a total royalty on mine products of over 5400 crores of rupees so far, due to the Reddy brothers and their business partners.

Poojary referred to the ugly episode of former minister H. Halappa to another, from Mc Gann in Shimoga to Victoria in Bangalore. People are pointing fingers at BJP criminal leaders one after another in and out of the BSY cabinet. The BJP state rulers are appropriating Union grants as their own contributions. The union grants are not utilised even to the extent of 25% properly to the developmental works in Karnataka, Poojary accused.

Congress leaders, Arun Coelho, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Hari Krishna Bantwal among other were present.
