Mobile Towers succumbs: Heavy rains at Adyar.

16.06.10 Mangalore : A mobile tower belonging to TATA Indicom near Adyar –Kannuru area outside Mangalore fell in a heap as heavy rain waters penetrated the wall nearby and hit the stones on which the tower on Tuesday morning. There was no stonewall to protect the tower set up on the backyard of the house of Kannur resident Farook, whose site is hilly and there are several houses on the hill owned by Abdul Rehman ,who did not allow the stonewall to protect the tower. The hillside is eroded and the tower could not stand erect.

Local corporater Sudhir Shetty, MCC Commissioner, and officers of TATA Indicom in city visited the place of mishap. A part of neighbor Iqbal’s house is damaged by the fall of the tower. Coconut trees have also fallen, hit by the tower. Local people fear more harm if a stonewall is not built immediately to stop eroding hill nearby.
