Four Chess Champions to represent state at National Championship

16.04.10 Mangalore : Karnataka State Under 13 FIDE Rated Chess Championship 2010 and Karnataka State Under 13 Girls Chess Championship 2010 concluded at Sharada Vidyalaya Mangalore on April 16, Friday.

Apart from Girish A Kaushik, a silver medalist in National under 13 Chess Championship 2009, the other two players from Karnataka will represent state officially.

Girish A Kausik, Akshay Bharadwaj, Augustin A, Chirag M Ramesh and Neeraj S Pai will represent Karnataka State to the forthcoming National Championship to be held at Pondicherry. Whereas, Gangamma and Swathi MR will represent National Under 13 Chess Championship at the same competition.

Mr Chame Gowda, Deputy Director of Public Instructions, Mr K S Kalluraya, Vice President, Sharada Group of Educational Institutions participated as the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes to the winners and participants.

 Mr M S Gururaj, President South Kanara District Chess Association, welcomed the guests and gathering. Vasanth BH, Chief arbiter of the tournament presented the tournament report.
