The demolition drive leads to dispute in city

16.06.10 Mangalore : Two unauthorized structures near Pumpwell (Mahaveer) Circle near Kankanady in the Port City were brought down by MCC, at the instance of Law and Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar who issued specific instructions, according to city Corporation Commissioner, Dr. Vijay Prakash, who spoke to pressmen on the demolition drive going on in the city.

The two structures belonged to a Muslim, Marina Hamid, who stated that they were constructed nearly a decade back. Why such discrimination in law, is an argument raised by a Minority Community official, who perhaps did not know that Hindu structures also had been demolished elsewhere in the city, to widen roads and what not.
