ABVP seeks suitable law to prevent Commercialization of Education.

18.06.10 Mangalore : The ABVP members met at the Jyothi Circle in Balmatta
today at 10Am to demonstrate and express their displeasure on
Commercialization being brought into purely educational portals in the
state.

City organizing secretary Karthik Sudan, who spoke at the rally, demanded a
full stop to selling and buying of education as in a market place and he
urged the students to become aware of this harmful trend in schools or
colleges. Instead of providing valuable and useful education that goes into
forming future careers, teachers and administrators were making money even
to evaluate answer scripts, he added.

Joint organizing secretary Swami Marulapur, stressed upon the need for an
all-embracing Central Act to contain and remove transactional education,
that prevent all children in India from getting useful and free education if
possible in place of present commercialized formal education. He wanted
social justice to all students (irrespective g forward / backward) in
matters of standard education to improve their lives. Only a suitable law
can intervene and help present sorry situation in the Campuses, he stated.
The epidemics of money making had spread from LKG to Degree classes, he
pointed out.
The speakers at the rally asked for single form of entry and proportional
seat distribution in professional colleges.
Pavan Shetty, Mahesh, Dasarath, Abhijit, Vikram, Sujit and Govt PU College
lady students participated.
