An artificial Flood in Padil: 2 Houses surrounded by dirty waters.

17.06.10 Mangalore : Come to Kodical near Padil on NH 48 and see a temporary dam (bridge?) under construction by PWD, and IRKON which handles drainage works as well. The torrential rains have created havoc and dangerous situations like drowning, immovability of people caught inside houses surrounded by dirty waters, and collapse of tree / houses.

The IRKON has played a villain in this connection by sub-standard works in drainage, with water over flowing into ponds and pools on the roadsides and around 2 houses. Somappa, a local resident had approached his corporators (BJP), Mohan Padil with a complaint regarding blocked rain waters that surrounded 2 houses in Padil. But nothing was done to mend matters. Somappa has 2 woman and a child inside his house, waiting to be inundated if rains continue today.
