Family flees from Death in fire mishap

17.06.10 Mangalore : A Maruti Omni car comprising a family escaped from a major accident when the car caught fire and turned to ashes near Padil on Thursday, June 17.

The residents of Buntkall  Mudigere Khader along with his family,  were on their way to Thumbay. Khader, had refilled the gas cylinder in the car in Mangalore. When the car reached Padil, a passer by Mohammad Haneef on his bike noticed the smoke emitting from the car and informed Khader after overtaking him.

The car was stopped and the family got down and they saw the flames in the moment. Later the Fire services from Pandeshwar rushed to the spot immediately.

The Service Advisor of Mandovi J Kishan, said the gas tank has a capacity of 47 litres and is a company product has a safety valve. 

He also said that a complaint has to be registered in the police station.  The insurance inspection will be carried out after submitting necessary documents. The money will be released in a few days, according to ID value of the car.

H S Varadarajan, Chief Fire Officer, Pandeshwar, Vasanth Kumar, Station Officer, Fire service, Pandeshwar and Kankanady Police officials visited the spot.
