Muliya Thimmappayya Memorial Award Confered to Prof K R Nagaraj

20.03.10 Mangalore : ‘Old Kannada or Halegannada is not far from the new kannada but can bring it closer by using it in friendly term’, said Prof K R Nagaraj, critic of Bangalore after receiving the Muliya Thimmappayya Memorial Award at a formal ceremony held at the Canara College auditorium on Mangalore 20, Saturday.

He also said that, as the poet requires talent to write poem, the reader requires talent to understand it.

Dr. Satyanarayana Mallipattana delivered the key-note address and said that the Muliya Thimmappayya Memorial Committee has conferred many awards to great personalities for their achievements in various fields.

Erya Lakshminarayana Alva presided over the programme. Prof Shrikrishna Bhat, the senior scholar, was the chief guest.
