Six arrested on charges of kidnap and assault

20.03.10 Mangalore : The Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) police were successful in arresting 6 persons on grounds of kidnapping and life threatening on March 20, Saturday. 

The arrested are Niyaz of Talapady, Rahamatulla of Mudipu, Siddique of Madoor, Rafeeq of Ullal, and Mohammed Ashraf and K H Ismail of Kinya.

The accused had kidnapped Abdul Khader, son of Ahmed Bava  of Majalthota near Kuttar and demanded to return of a loan of Rs 2.5 lakh taken by his father. It is said that Ahmed Bava had taken the loan from K C Mohammed of Talapady an year ago.

Hence Niyaz, son of K C Mohammed, planned to kidnapp Abdul Khader and demanding the immediate return of the loan, while Ahmed Bava had disappeared in a meantime.

 Niyaz and his associates put the plan into action on March 19, Friday. 

Inorder to put paln ionto action, Niyaz and his 6 associates intercepted Khader’s  car  and dragged him into a Omni vehicle which was moving toward Someshwar.

The arrested had harassed Khader physically as well as mentally and threatened to kill him within one month if he failed to return the loan.  Later they released Khader near Mahakali Padpu, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Pandeshwar police. 

The police registered a case and accused were produced in court.
