Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat office inaugurated at MCC

19.04.10 Mangalore :  The Reception Committee Office of Mangalore Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, which is scheduled to be held in the city on April 30, was inaugurated at Mangalore City Corporation building on Monday, April 19.

Krishna J Palemar, Minister-in-Charge of Dakshina Kannada inaugurated the office.

Speaking on the occasion, treasurer of the committee, Bhuvana Ram Udupa,  said that the convention will have four main sessions - education, Kannada literature, Kannada film songs and humour in Kannada literature. 

Eight female and seven male litterateurs will be felicitated for their service in the field of Kannada literature during the convention, he added.

Rajani Dugganna, the Mayor of the city announced the name of renowned writer of Dakshina Kannada Bola Chittaranjan Das Shetty as the president of Sammelana.

Harikrshina Punaroor, former President of State Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, President of DK District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Deputy Mayor Rajendra Kumar, Mangalore MLA Yogish Bhat, Ex Mayors Shanker Bhat and Ganesh Hosabettu, Dr. Prabhakar Joshi, Abhay Chandra Jain, MLA of Moodbiri and office-bearers of the reception committee of the Sahitya Sammelana committee were present.
