20.05.10 : She is from Calcutta (Kolkata) and her splinter party known as Trinamool (grass root) congress has once ruled Kolkata city. Mamta is Didi (elder sister) to her brother and sisters in the party, and Kolkata, she declares even today, is her home and not Delhi. This remark could hurt the Queen of Delhi, thrice CM, Sheila Dixit. If every Minister were to say Delhi is not “my home”, it could divide the country into several pieces, since every minister and MP are given temporary home in the capital, on North/ South avenues and all over the city, as to 10, Jan Path or 7, Race course road. So Didi is not being patriotic when she does not belong to Delhi! She can marry a man from Delhi if she is still single, and make a home in Delhi (like Sushma Swaraj). Her ambition appears to be, not becoming a Railways (empire) minister in New Delhi and behave like an empress in that huge Organisation on wheels, but only to succeed Buddhadeb Bhattacharya as the next CM of Bengal.That is a small ambition really, like trying to scale the Mt. Kanchanganga, when she is equiped to  scale Mount Everest, taller than K-1.

Didi is caricatured in a cartoon in a prominent daily on May 19 for her ebullient stray remark on why she spends more time in Bengal (Calcutta, that is) than in New Delhi. Of course, her stay in Delhi could be longer if it is too short, and UPA or CPI (M) leaders want her to spend more time in Delhi, and run from Delhi more trains to all states.
