World chess wizard and Champion

Super Grandmaster and 2007 World Chess Champion V. Anand (V. for victory, but
here it is father’s name attached to his, as South Indian Tamils do) in Sofia,
Bulgaria, retained his high rank by winning 2010 World Chess Championship, on
May 11, Tuesday by 6.5 to 5.5 points in the final 12th classic game, beating the
challenger Vaselin Topalov in his home state and city of Sofia in Bulgaria.
Anand had traveled 2000 Km to cross 4 European states in a car, and enter Sofia
3 days before the opening match. He won the final game in “the most intense
match” he ever played, winning 1.2 million Euros with black pieces and keeping
his world Title till 2012, He is 40.
The final decisive game lasted 56 moves and the challenger bungled in his last
moves to surrender to the final winner. The Madrasi World Champion will be known
as Viva Anand hence!
