NITK inaugurates three Days ‘FIME-2010’

20.05.10 Mangalore : The inaugural of three day International Conference on
Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering (FIME)-2010 organized by National
Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal was held at the NITK on
Thursday, May 20.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the event, B R Satyan, the Director of
Central Manufacturing Technology Institute, said that each person has an
engineering calculation within themselves and without having engineering and
mathematical exertion, one cannot make any achievement.

Any country which excels in technology and mechanical engineering is
possible to become economically richer country. The under developed country,
including India is dependent ON Western countries to be developed, he added.
Participating as the guest of honour, Prof. Michel Jean Bernard from Summer
University of Switzerland said that mechanical engineering has a vital role
in providing safety measures and financial importance.

Prof. GC Mohan Kumar, Organizing Secretary of FIME welcomed the guests and
gathering. Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, the Director of NITK presided over the
programme. Prof. Appukuttan delivered the introductory address on the
occasion. |
