Pa Go Award Conferred to Harish K Adhur

21.03.10 Mangalore : The Padyana  Gopalakrishna (Pa. Go) Award for excellence in rural reporting was conferred to Harish K Adhur former reporter of Samyukta Karnataka at Press Club on March 21, Sunday.

Participating as the chief guest on the occasion, Jayarama Raje Aras (IAS) Secretary, Kannada Culture & Information Dept felicitated the winner with the memento, shawl and a citation instituted by Pa. Go. Memorial Trust.

Speaking on the occasion, Aras said that, these kinds of awards to the journalist who excel in rural reporting help to give qualitative reports from other journalists too.

The winner had worked hard to collect the information on the rural life of one particular tribe who lack the basic facility. Most of the reporters collect information on the telephonic conversation which may be far from the truth; hence they must try to have the practical reporting for detailed and facts of the information.

Expressing his happiness on the occasion, Harish after receiving the award said that, many friends in the field of journalism have helped him to reach his goal.

He also said that today there is lot of novelty in education has been seen in journalism but it must be updated for the implementation.

Guruvappa Balepuni, secretary of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalist’s Union welcomed the gathering and guests.

U. Narasimha Rao and Savithri Rao, Harsha, president, DKWJU were also present on the occasion.
