SIO  to conduct ‘Summer Festival-2010’ for children

22.04.10 Mangalore : The West  region of Students Islamic Organisation of Inida (SIO) will organise two days ‘Summer Festival-2010’ for students on April 24 and 25.

As a part of festival, the massive marathon will be held to create awareness among the people and spread the message of peace and brotherhood by the children of 11 to 14 age group on Sunday 25th April at 7: 30 am, from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan, said Muhammad Nisar, Secretary, SIO West Range speaking at the press meet, held at Hotel Woodlands on April 22, Thursday.

Various competitions comprising of quiz, elocution, singing, skit and other out-door games like running race, kabaddi will be carried on the eve of festival said Arman, a junior associate of SIO.

  The children securing first will be awded with the cash prize of Rs. 1,500, while the second and third place winner will receive Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 respectively, he added.

Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj, MLA UT Khader and other eminent personalities will participate on the occasion.

Muhammad Parvez, Convener and president of SIO Ashfaq Ahmad Shareef were present at the press meet.
