Two road accidents leave one dead

23.04.10 Mangalore : In two separate vehicular accidents happening recently in and around the port city, a lorry skidded off the road near Pumpwell on Nanthoor road, and a truck cleaner died when a K.S.R.T.C bus coming to Mangalore knocked him down in Adyar.

The lorry overturned at the same place on Tuesday night (April 22) where a gas tanker had bit the dust earlier on April 19. The driver and cleaner escaped death with only minor injuries.

In the case of Gas Tanker falling into the ditch, there is an inherent fear that gas may escape or catch fire, unless safely cleared.

As regards the bus in a hurry, that killed a truck cleaner walking on the road, the driver could not control his vehicle and it collided with a parked truck.

Police are investigating both cases.
