Palemar confers Yuva Mandal Awards

24.03.10  “Our district is gaining international recognition for sports,” said Krishna J Palemar, District-in-charge Minister after giving away awards to Men and Women’s Yuva Mandal during a formal function organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra at the auditoriums of the DC office on March 23, Tuesday.

He also said that the state government which encourages sports in the district has sanctioned more funds for the organization of sports-related activities. He urged the Yuva Mandal to show more interest in sports. He assured to give Rs 5000 to each Yuva Mandal that participates in sports activities.

The awards given away by the minister comprised a cash prize and a memento. Twelve Yuva Mandals belonging to different taluks received these awards.

Additional Commissioner S J Prabhakar Sharma, K F D’Souza, and Purushottama were also present for the programme.
