CFI Staged Protest against New education policy

25.03.10 Mangalore : The Campus front of India staged protest against the new education policy of the central government near DC Office on March 25, Thursday.

Speaking at the protest, Muhammad Nawaz, district general secretary, CFI said that, the union government’s monopoly on education with states having little stake. He also said that the education is currently in the concurrent list but newly announced National Commission for Higher Education and Research Bill 2010 will take away the authority of the states, he alleged.

The campus front of India also feels that the new education policy is the assault on the Indian higher education system by the neo-liberal interests of the ruling class. He also said that the setting up National Commission for Higher Education is nothing but the tactics of the Centre to shift the education from the concurrent list to Union list.

The new education system is the neo-liberal assault on Indian Education System and the nature of the commission is against the federal principal of our nation, he added.
