Forensic team conducts DNA test at Wenlock Hospital

24.05.10 Mangalore : In order to provide relief to the bereaved
families by completing the identification process, and hand over the bodies
to their respective families for the final rites, the forensic team from
Hyderabad has arrived to conduct the DNA tests on the bodies on May 23,
Sunday.
Number of bodies that required to be recognized by conducting DNA tests
still remains unclear because families of the victims are still trying to
identify their loved ones at Wenlock Hospital mortuary.
As directed by the district administration, with help of private hospitals
people were seen shifting from one hospital to other for elaborate
procedure.
The central government has also provided 3-day interim visas to relatives of
the victims to arrive in India and claim the bodies. Apart from it,
additional flights will be operated by the airline to take the families of
the victims.
The eight survivors of the crash taking treatment at different hospitals in
Mangalore are out of danger sustaining minor injuries like burns and cuts.
