Fire in a Bakery causes loss of Rs.6 Lakhs

26.04.10 Mangalore : There was a sudden fire accident in an established bakery at Hampankatta area, near Milagres this morning before dawn, and the loss is established at Rs.6 lakhs by the loser – owner. Canara Bakery owned by one Noel Sandeep Menezes, was on fire at 3A.M. on Monday due to a short circuit. The damage came to be known only when the shop was opened in the morning. The fire brigade and police personnel hurried to the spot on getting the calls. Fire was put off, but heavy smoke remained. The bakery food items and some furniture were fully destroyed in the fire that raged for at least 6 to 4 hours at a scratch. Bunder police have registered a case of fire now.
