Experts send DNA reports of 10 bodies: Commissioner

26.05.10 Mangalore : The DNA reports of 10 unidentified bodies of crash have
come, in which 5 belongs to Karnataka, 3 from Kerala and the other 2 are of
the Crew members, said Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh, speaking
at the press meet held at his office on May 26, Wednesday.
The victims like Aaron Joel Fernandes, Cassia Jeppu Mangalore at K S Hegde
Hospital, Moulana Altaf Ahmed, Gangolli, Udupi district at Father Muller’s
Hospital, Mahendra Ramesh Kodikani , Dandeli at Colaco Hospital, Naveed
Ibrahim Siraj, Vadabhandeshwara Malpe Udupi at KMC Hospital Attavara,
Muhammad Zaid at K S Hegde Hospital are the 5 identified bodies belong to
Karnataka.
While Riju John, Kasaragod at City Hospital, Umesh Vijayan Kilooru Kalanadu
at SCS Hospital, Muhammad Bashir, Bappaitotti Uppala at City Hospital from
Kerala.

Muhammad Ali, Crew, Madhya Pradesh - SCS Hospital
He also said that the ACP has called the members of the family members
regarding the identification of the bodies. No other person other than the
family member must come to hospitals and ask for bodies, he requested. The
DNA reports of rest 12 bodies will given soon and bodies will be hand overed
to the families soon, he added.
Answering the query in regard to regard to handing over of the victims
belongings to the family members, he said the belonging has been done and
handed over to the Air India and the family members can the valuables from
the Air India counter which will be established at Lalbagh office.
He alsom denied the rumours that people who crowded during the crash had
taken away the valuables on the same day. More priority was given to rescue
and retrieve the bodies of crash victims at the moment, hence police
officals did not give important to these issues. The spot of crash will
remain under the Bajpe police till the enquiry and inspection is completed,
he added.
