Mohammed Sameer did not rescue Sabrina: Bajpe Villagers

26.05.10 Mangalore : Three major Kannada dailies have given the statement that Mohammed Sameer has brought the unconscious Sabrina Nasrin Haq, 23 A student of the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, far from the crash spot and saved her life and it is false, said Satish Devadiga, resident of Bajpe.

He was speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on May 26, Wednesday. He also said that he and his team including Hemachandra Devadiga, Rama Devadiga, Ravindra Devadiga, Satish Kotian, Harish Poojary, Taranath Kundar, Taranath Kotian, Shekar Kotiam, Guruprasad Acharya and Nonayya Sapalya were present in two minutes from the incident.

The statement given by Mohammed Sameer is a false statement and just for reward and publicity, since none of the resident saw him on the spot, but may be he was the first to inform, he added.

He also said that, the fire service reached the before the police officials, but they sprayed the water from the runway itself and did not go closer.

When the residents carried Sabrina and reached the channel, the plane got crashed; actually some residents are saved because of her, or else they would be searching for other bodies in the location, he said.

Around 20 to 30 people came to help the victims, but most of them came with the intention to take the ornaments and valuables from the victims.

Hemachandra Devadiga, Rama Devadiga and Ravindra Devadiga were present at the press meet.
