Three persons chosen for Tulu Sahitya Academy 2009 Awards

26.05.10 Bangalore : Tulu linguist Dr. Rama Krishna Shetty, Tulu Yakshgana artiste Kanchan Sanjeeva Rai, and Tulu Play wright- actor- director Bhoja Suvarna have been selected for 2009 awards by the Tulu Sahitya Academy, informed its member Uday Dharmasthala, in a prèss meet at Bangalore. The three awards will be presented on May 29 at the Kannada Bhavan premises in Bangalore he added. Each award carried Rs. 10,000/- and mementos.

Three writers, Muddu Moodubelle, Lalitha Rai and Poovappa Kaniyur have been awarded Rs. 5,000/- each for their books under the category of book awards for 2009. The books contain poems, a novel, and study of oral delivery (singing etc.) respectively by the three authors.
