English News Channel ‘Coastal Times’ Celebrates
Fifth Anniversary

28.03.10 Mangalore : “Media must avoid focussing
communal disturbances by creates tension in society, but they must highlight
the good deeds in society”, said Sri Esha Vittaladasa Swami of Sandipani
Mutt in Kemaru, at the fifth anniversary programme of news channel ‘Coastal
Times’ held at at Bejai Church Hall on Saturday, March 27.
Speaking after the inauguration of the programme, he
said that the society, which is being known for communal violence, can be
changed through media by highlighting one good work in society.

Rohan Montiero, proprietor, Inland Real Estate and
Developers, Lancy Mascarenhas, proprietor, Lancy Constructions, Lester
D’Souza, proprietor, Souza Hatcheries, and John D’Silva, principal, St
Aloysius Pre-university College, were honoured by Coastal Times group.
The talent of Suvarna Channel’s reality programme
‘Super star’ programme, Kushi, a resident of Bejai Anegundi, was felicitated
on the occasion.

V Ponnuraj, deputy commissioner of the district, Nalin
Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament, Rajendra, deputy mayor of MCC, and
Sadananda Shetty, chairman, Shridevi Education Trust, were the guests.
Agnel Rodrigues, managing director, Coastal Times,
welcomed the guests and gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Aheema
Shetty, compered the programme.
