Palemar flagged off Mangalore-Manipal Volvo bus

Mangalore : Krishna J Palemar, the District-in-charge Minister flagged off
the Manipal-Mangalore route Volvo bus service by the Karnataka State Road
Corporation (KSRTC) at Service Bus Stand, near State Bank of India in
Mangalore on Saturday, March 27.
Speaking on
the occasion, he said that red-coloured, low floor, air conditioned new
luxurious buses will offer comfortable service at reasonable fares.

As per the
demand of the people, six Volvo buses will start running between Mangalore
and Manipal via Mulky, Padubidri, Udupi, he added.
While Palemar
flagged off the buses from Mangalore simultaneously Dr V S Acharya, State
Home Minister, inaugurated the buses at Udupi.
These buses
will run between two cities everyday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm with one hour
gap. Apart from the two destinations they are also scheduled to stop in four
other places namely Suratkal, Mulky, Padubidri and Udupi.
Travel fares
from Mangalore to Manipal, Udupi, Padubidri, Mulky and Suratkal as Rs.60,
Rs.55, Rs.40, Rs.35 and Rs.20 respectively.

Rajani
Dugganna, Mayor of Mangalor, V Ponnuraj, Deputy Commissioner, and A
Subrahmanyeshwara Rao, the Superintendent of Police were among those present
during the inauguration of new buses.
